The story of Lazarus from John 11 offers profound insights into the nature of God's timing and how it serves a higher purpose than our immediate desires. When Jesus hears of Lazarus's illness, He intentionally waits two days before visiting, a delay that confounds those expecting a quick response. This pause, however, sets the stage for a greater demonstration of God's glory and the strengthening of faith. Upon arrival, Jesus encounters Martha's mixed feelings of disappointment and belief, which leads to a pivotal conversation about life, resurrection, and faith. The eventual calling forth of Lazarus from the grave is a powerful testament to Jesus' dominion over death and an invitation for us to engage in God's miraculous works with belief. The narrative encourages us to examine our reactions to God's seemingly untimely actions and to trust in His grand plan, even when it's beyond our understanding.
