"Get Up! Who Is In Your Corner?" | Pastor Anita Brown

Life inevitably brings challenges that can knock us down, but our resilience often depends on who we have in our corner. Drawing from the metaphor of boxing and biblical wisdom, we learn that true supporters don't just sympathize - they actively help us get back up. These corner people listen without judgment, allow emotional expression, provide biblical encouragement, speak truth when needed, and remain present through difficult seasons. Just as Job's friends sat with him in his suffering, sometimes the most powerful support is simply being present. Having scripture ready for life's challenges is equally important. Key verses from Psalms, Lamentations, and other books provide hope, assurance, and perspective when we need them most. Getting back up is ultimately a choice, supported by God's promises and the right people in our corner. Isaiah 40:28-31 reminds us that God gives strength to the weary and power to the weak. The combination of strong spiritual foundation and supportive relationships enables us to rise again after life knocks us down.
