The profound connection between our hearts and our words shapes every interaction we have. Like a tree producing fruit according to its nature, our speech flows directly from what we store in our hearts. When we fill our hearts with goodness, our words naturally build up and encourage others. Conversely, harboring negative thoughts leads to harmful speech that can destroy relationships and cause lasting damage.True listening requires setting aside our own thoughts and resisting the urge to form responses before others finish speaking. Many conflicts arise from hasty assumptions and premature judgments. By practicing active listening and guarding our thought life, we can prevent regrettable words and foster healthier relationships. The key lies in examining our hearts, being quick to listen, slow to speak, and intentional about using our words to reflect love and truth.
